Lovely things
I've been part of a few safaris recently to see how all has been going and fine tuning a few things to make sure every safari we offer is the absolute best. Along the way the big bonus is meeting more of you and seeing what you love and the enjoyment you have in meeting inspiring people and exploring new flavours.
Last week, I joined the Turkish safari in Auburn and was greeted by a wonderful couple straight off the plane from New Zealand..they had flown through the night and come straight to Auburn for a waft of exotic spice and some seriously good food. They are pictured having a divine impromptu Persian brunch.
I also met Ron who had been given the safari as a Fathers day present - here he is pictured with Mohammed the baker and his tanur oven. The bread is a wonderful crisp on the bottom, slightly spongy on top bread that is adored by the Persian community. I know this as I'd spent the past week filming for Food Safari 3 which will air on SBS on Wednesday December 3 at 7.30pm. One of the stars is Persian chef Jasan Aghamri who allowed us a visit into his restaurant Vatan in Auburn as a surprise extra on the Turkish safari...here he is with some of that great bread - its 50% wholemeal - my freezer is packed with it!

Margaret River
Next year our safari to Margaret River will be in early March to take advantage of warmer weather in this beautiful jewel of a destination on the sparkling Western Australian coast. We stay at the beautiful 5 star Bunker Bay Resort and have our wonderful local guide, Don Hancey introduce us to some of the regions top chefs and producers. Don't miss out.
So folks, enjoy the early spring...
