Vietnam Dreaming 27th September - 7th October 2009
Dear safaris family,
In the depths of winter with threats of swine flu and icy winter winds swirling, I'd like to suggest a beautiful escape. Come with us on a Gourmet Safari to one of the earth's special places.
Vietnam is one of those places that works its subtle magic on you from the moment you arrive - the tropical air full of the scents of exotic herbs and vibrant flowers, two things you'll see again and again during a safari with us. The herbs of course are part of this delicious complex cuisine that you'll savour and learn to cook, while the flowers adorn the luxury rooms you'll stay in, surround every pool, are a riot of colour in the many markets we take you through and something which our Vietnam based guide Linda greets you with at Hanoi airport.
We've been visiting this amazing country since 2003 and have established some terrific relationships with local people who really look after us and help you to enjoy a really first class holiday. We want you to experience the best Vietnam has to offer, to move beyond the tourist trail and enjoy moments you'll remember for the rest of your life - standing on the deck of our own boat on Halong Bay, in the middle of a breathtaking landscape with its thousands of islands that rise straight up from the water; learning to cross the 8 lanes of non stop traffic in Saigon with our guide helping you to negotiate the madness - its like Moses parting the Red Sea; having your first sip of icy 333 beer before an evening of feasting in a traditional restaurant; enjoying the wind in your hair as you sit on the back of a motorbike wending its way along the levees of the brilliant green of the padi fields in the Mekong; watching fishermen cast their nets at sunset on the river near Hoi An as the sky turns pink and orange in the distance.
There's lots more - and I haven't even started describing some of the fabulous retail moments that await you if that's one of your passions...
Have a read of the itinerary we've carefully honed over the years and see if this sounds like the perfect antidote to sniffles and too much hard work - and remember, better to have a week relaxing and enjoying rather than a wasted week spent recovering from flu/cold/stress. Click here for a copy of the itinerary and more information.
Run away with us.
